To put it simply, I’ve had a rough senior year. I graduated on May 16 from High School but have been wrapping up the final parts of my home school education before we send in the complete transcript to my university. The jaw surgery, and other health complications, as well as anxiety and some depression, has kept me in a rut. And, as an INFP and a creative girl who loves to read, write, draw, and scholastic activities in general, this has been very difficult as I struggle to overcome my personal pain and angst.
I’ve taken a Tumblr hiatus for the simple reason that it was becoming unhealthy for me and drained me of time and filled me with negative thoughts and ideas. While I’m regretful somewhat to have this fun, but addictive website off limits for a while, I’m glad that I’ve freed up so much time for reading classic works which I’ve been wanting to pick up for a while. This summer I also need to clean out my room, shop for my dorm, and a multitude of other college-girl tasks. I’ve enjoyed creating a “Uni-bound” Pinterest board where I collect ideas for dorm decorating and study tips that will come in useful this Fall. Already I’ve been blessed to get to know my classmates and I can’t wait to begin classes. I’ll be taking Philosophy and the Ethical Life, Literary Tradition I, Understanding the Bible, Latin, and 2D-design. I’m exhilarated and can’t wait to begin. I plan to read as many books on the Uni booklist as possible, and this includes Homer, Dante, St. Augustine, Plato, and a multitude of others.
This week my sister and I are completing our literature course with Omnibus’ lesson on Short Stories, and hopefully we’ll be able to write short stories as our last assignment. I am also writing a post senior thesis to finish out and I’ll probably post that here as well.
As for writing and drawing, I am going to do June NaNoWriMo. June is my birthday month, but I think bringing in my nineteenth year would be best celebrated with writing a long beloved story of mine, the darling of my heart. I’ve made many adjustments to it so I look forward to the final version that I’ve planned out. As soon as I finish schoolwork I intend to buy a Macbook Pro, my very first, and get Adobe CC. On my PC I use Paint Tool SAI and Manga Studio, so we’ll see what Photoshop will bring to the table. A lot, probably.
Stay tuned for the cover of my novel, Fortis Corde, and the introductory Beautiful People Post for my characters. I’m very pumped to do this before college begins.
